Jesus and the Incarnation

During session 3, while discussing Jesus’ own self-understanding, there were a number of really good questions about the Incarnation. The concern raised was that if Jesus was really God in human form, then He would have a major advantage over us when it comes to living out a morally virtuous life. If we view Jesus as a kind of Superman in a human costume, then can we really relate to Him as a human person?

During the session I gave a response that talked about Jesus emptying Himself of explicit awareness of divine attributes in order to fully take on the human experience and live His life as a man. I came across this YouTube video recently that talks about the view I raised, but with considerably more eloquence! I thought this might be a useful resource for everyone so I posted it here.
